The winner of the auction is Joshua Paul Schmidt (26) from Sørum, Akershus. He works as a teacher at Kjelle VGS and is the chairman of Sørum Youth Chess club. Elo 1428. He is also known from the norwegian tv-show FK Zebra.
GM Leif Johannessen will replace GM Kjetil Lie in the finals.

Grandmaster Kjetil A. Lie from Porsgrunn is the reigning Norwegian champion. having the championship the last two years and with it the coveted Royal Cup. This year’s contest was very close, with four players battling it out in a hard-fought playoff.
